Going downhill since 1959!

Fall has arrived and the temps are starting to fall. As some of you have started thinking about skiing, so have we. There are some rather large changes going on this year to help combat COVID-19 and it is going to impact our ski lesson program a little. Although things haven't been finalized i'm getting some requests for info regarding the swap and lessons so I will try to fill you in on what we know so far.

This year KSC lessons will be on saturday night. The specifics have not been finalized as of now, but its looking like 4:30 to 6:30. This will be a condensed shorter season. Starting January 23rd and ending March 6th. Those dates are about 90 percent confirmed.

Also we will only be offering the lower 2/3rds of our program.  Class 1-10, Maybe class 12. Due to the fact that we will be teaching at night, and safety being paramount, we wanted to have a higher instructor to child ratio and we were not able to achieve this while also offering the upper level classes. Plus being at night it will cut the amount of upper ability level terrain for teaching. For these reasons we will not be offering our upper classes.

We are looking to have everything from dates to class sizes and offerings confirmed in October. When we do, I will be able to turn on the website for registration.

All of this is in response to the mountain needing to limit traffic and persons being in the lodge. All of the non-profit schools have been asked to comply with these operating procedures this year. Hopefully everything will return to normal next year.

The Ski swap and sale at the fairgrounds is still going to happen.

The dates are October 3rd and 4th for the sale and gear turn in will be the 2nd.

There will more than likely be some sort of traffic control to limit the number of people in the building and masks will be mandatory. More details on that will be published as we get closer. As always, we will be looking for volunteers to help run the swap. I will be sending out an email in about 10 days to start scheduling personnel to help.

Thanks to everyone in advance for understanding and working with us to make this ski season a fun yet safe one.
